Congratulations to three of our undergraduate Communication majors, who have each had their papers accepted to Western States Communication Association’s 2017 Undergraduate Scholars Research Conference (USRC). Christine L. Brady, Weston Wood, and Sarah Patterson will be presenting at the USRC on February 18 here in Salt Lake City, which will be followed by the Western States Communication Association Convention, from Feb. 18-21 at the Little America Hotel.
Christine L. Brady is a junior in Communication with a minor in Middle East Studies, and her paper is titled, "The Game, The Prize and War Crimes: Geopolitics and Soft War in Syria." Weston Wood is a senior in Communication with a paper titled, "Population Paradox: Envision Utah and the Not-So-Infinite Environment." Sarah Patterson is a senior in Strategic Communication and her paper is titled, "Ute Nickname Research Project: The Rhetoric Surrounding the University of Utah's Nickname on Social Media and its Influence on Representation of the Northern Ute Nation."
These young scholars will each present on a panel and offer a 10-minute presentation about their research, along with an audience Q&A.
