Why Study in the Department of Communication?
The graduate program in communication at the University of Utah provides training across the full spectrum of communication studies. Housed in one of the few fully integrated communication departments in the country, its primary mission is the preparation of the academic professional for a calling marked by excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service. It also supports professional practice in organizations, conflict resolution, media, and technology.
Its hallmark is the scholar or public intellectual or practitioner who contributes a voice of thoughtful reflection in the course of a successful career. We offer a nationally acclaimed Master's and Ph.D. courses of study in a breathtaking Mountain West location. The graduate program is noted for its close faculty-student interaction, and Master's and Ph.D. students have great flexibility in designing, with their supervisory committees, their individual programs of study.
Applications for graduate studies are due by December 15. The How to Apply page has more information about materials needed and minimum requirements for applicants.
