Absolute Communication is a student-run advertising and public relations agency affiliated with the Department of Communication at the University of Utah. It is a small group of dedicated students committed to doing professional work while gaining real-world experience in the industry.

Humanities in Focus (HIF) gives 20 diverse individuals representing a variety of ethnicities the opportunity to discover and articulate their own voices through creative writing and documentary film production. Serving a populace that has been previously excluded from college humanities education and expression, HIF is a carefully designed course that includes college-level writing and documentary-making classes to deepen the understanding of the human condition.
K-Ute Radio is a student run radio station at the University of Utah. It is located on the 4th floor of the union building. You can listen online, on channel 99 in the dorms, or 1620AM in Salt Lake City.

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is a professional organization that serves its members with networking opportunities, employment resources, and information about emerging trends in communication and new media fields as well as strategies for professional advancement. Membership of PRSA at the student level (PRSSA) enables students to access content that is available exclusively to members.
The Scope Health Sciences Online Radio is a production of the University of Utah Health
Sciences Office of Public Affairs in collaboration with University of Utah’s Department
of Communication. Compensation and internship credit is available for students desiring
to participate in the production. Research funding is also available for academic
research relating to The Scope.

Voices of Utah, an award-winning, ongoing multimedia project of student-journalists in the Department of Communication at the University of Utah, was created by Dr. Kimberley Mangun to give students an opportunity to cover a diverse beat and practice multimedia storytelling.
U NewsWriting was created by Dr. Kimberley Mangun in Fall 2011 to give students in sections of COMM 1610, Introduction to News Writing, an opportunity to publish their stories and practice multimedia storytelling.
