The certificate will consist of 21 credits divided into three categories, as follows:
Foundational Courses
Complete all of the following courses:

Complete at least one of the following courses:
- COMM 1270 – Analysis of Argument
- COMM 3200 – Persuasion Theory and Practices

Interpersonal and Cultural Contexts
Complete at least one of the following courses:

By completing the media studies minor, students will:
- Learn skills and theory to effectively respond to conflict and facilitate constructive dialogue.
- Learn how to navigate challenging conversations at work, in the community, and at home.
- Learn how to assess and diagnose conflicts and issues from a number of perspectives.
- Learn mediation skills that can contribute to becoming a professional mediator.
