Parry D. Sorensen Lecture

The Parry D. Sorensen Distinguished lecture was established in 1993 by Parry and Margaret Sorensen. Parry D. Sorensen was the former head of the Public Relations sequence and a long-time University administrator. This lecture focuses on public relations issues, teaches special topics, and provides scholarships to deserving Communication students.

B. Aubrey Fisher Memorial Lecture

The B. Aubrey Fisher Memorial Lecture was established by the Department  of Communication in 1986 to recognize Professor Fisher's outstanding achievements. As a faculty member at the University of Utah from 1971 to 1986, Professor Fisher was an interpersonal communication specialist, as well as a communication theorist, whose work was required reading in communication courses throughout the field. The Fisher Lecture serves to provide a forum for presenting original research and theory in communication.

Communication Institute Lectures

Each year, the Edna Anderson Taylor Communication Institute holds a series of 4-6 lectures offered by faculty from across our campus, the United States, and internationally. Speakers discuss how their research-in-progress addresses an issue of public concern at the intersections of communication and public policy.
