John R. Park
Debate Society

Founded by John R. Park in 1869, the University of Utah’s Speech & Debate Team has a long tradition of competitive success in parliamentary debate and individual events. For the last seven years, the University of Utah has finished in the top 10 nationally.

Communication Institute

Permanently established in 1997 by the Board of Trustees, the Communication Institute supports the dissemination of research and pedagogy in rhetorical, cultural, organizational, interpersonal, health, environmental, scientific, and mediated communication practices.

The Daily Utah Chronicle

The Daily Utah Chronicle is an independent student newspaper published daily Monday through Friday during Fall and Spring Semesters. The Chronicle employs more than 100 students in various part- and full-time positions throughout the year.

Public Relations Student Society of America

The University of Utah PRSSA chapter offers students opportunities that assist them academically and professionally. PRSSA membership will advance your networking and spotlight your resume when starting your career.

Founded in 1909 as Sigma Delta Chi, the Society of Professional Journalists is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging independent journalism and supporting high ethical standards.
