Department of Communication Announces New UAC Master's Program Director Dr. Jun Heo
The University of Utah Asia Campus is pleased to welcome Dr. Jun Heo as the new Director
of the Master’s Program.
Dr. Heo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at the University
of Utah. Before joining the U, he spent 15 years in academia, including serving as
an associate professor and area head of Digital Advertising at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Heo earned his doctorate in mass communication from the University of Florida,
with an emphasis in advertising, and holds a master’s degree in advertising from Michigan
State University. His research focuses on emerging advertising media, media audiences,
media effects, and the advertising industry.
Dr. Heo also brings a wealth of industry experience, having worked as a media director
and planner at renowned global advertising agencies, such as Dentsu Young & Rubicam,
Ogilvy & Mather, and Universal McCann.
As Director, Dr. Heo is committed to fostering an innovative and collaborative learning
environment while continuing to prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving
global media landscape. He is also committed to bridging the gap between professional
practice and academia, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical
skills to succeed in their careers.

communication and advertising, combined with his valuable industry experience, Dr.

and practical industry knowledge ensures that the Master’s Program will continue to
