Professor Wins 2nd Place Prize at AEJMC

Congratulations to Professor Yvette Shen for winning 2nd prize in the category of Creative Projects at this year's meeting of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Professor Shen won for her work on a web project entitled "Multimedia News Storytelling – A Visual Learning Tool."This web project is an interactive tool to introduce journalism students to the concepts and best practices of multimedia news storytelling. The goal is to present students with integrated understanding of multimedia journalism from the perspectives such as conceptual thinking, historical context, audience research, and analysis of award-winning multimedia news projects. The website uses the most current web technology with all original contents and graphics. It's a collaborative work with Journalism Prof. Nan Zheng from James Madison University School of Media Arts and Design.
