Dr. Suhi Choi Named 2022-2023 Utah Presidential Leadership Fellow

The Department of Communication is pleased to announce that Dr. Suhi Choi has been selected as a 2022-2023 Mellon funded Utah Presidential Leadership Fellow.

The UPL Fellowship seeks to transform the expectations that surround leaders, leadership, and leadership development across higher education with a specific focus on the challenges associated with leading for equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Fellowship focuses on developing leaders within the Humanities to create space to differently prepare humanists to take over roles that they historically filled in larger numbers.

Dr. Choi will join faculty from the University of Utah, Utah State University, Weber State University, and Salt Lake Community College as they participate in monthly cabinet meetings alternating with small-group sessions.

Over the period of the program and beyond, UPL Fellows interact with distinguished faculty, leaders, administrators, and policymakers from around the state. Through this experience, Fellows build a network of future leaders who will be stewards for equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher education and throughout the changing society we share.

Dr. Choi, who was nominated for the UPL Fellowship by the Dean of Humanities, Dr. Hollis Robbins, will begin her appointment immediately.
