PR Coordinator Student Intern - London Kelley
London Kelley (she/her) is a senior at the University of Utah studying political science
and strategic communication. She worked for the Department of Communication last year
as a PR Coordinator, and she is excited to be back this year! London specializes in
social media work, and currently runs the Department's social media accounts. She
loves reading, snowboarding, and spending time with friends and family in her free
time.
PR Coordinator Student Intern - Melia Norwood
Melia Norwood is a third-year Strategic Communication major at the U, with double
minors in Management and Psychology. Originally from Orange County, California, she
chose the U for its stunning scenery and change of weather. On weekends, you can find
her at a coffee shop with friends, thrifting, hiking in the Cottonwoods, or out exploring
with her camera. Melia currently works as a Social Media Contributor at Wasatch Magazine, as well as
a Social Media Manager for a magazine in her hometown. She specializes in content
strategy, audience engagement, and brand consistency. Melia also has experience with
communication and marketing internships, as well as freelance photography for the
US Olympic Speedskating Team. Melia is excited to start working with the Communication
Department and continue developing her skills in the field!
Clinical Associate Professor | Student Intern Supervisor - Dr. Curtis Newbold
Curtis Newbold is a passionate educator, speaker, and award-winning corporate consultant.
His research spans areas of business and strategic communication; information design;
and competency-based education. Newbold has taught university courses in the U.S.,
Korea, and China and he has led graduate student strategic communication projects
for non-profits on five continents. Curtis has delivered over 200 live trainings,
webinars, workshops, and keynote addresses for several multinational companies and
government organizations. He has a PhD in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information
Design (RCID) from Clemson University and a BS in English and MA in Professional Communication
from Utah State University. His forthcoming textbook, Business & Professional Communication:
A Human-Centered Approach, is scheduled for publication in January 2025. He currently
serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Strategic Communication at the University
of Utah where he also advises the student chapter of Public Relations Student Society
of America (PRSSA).
