UAC Members Honored by Incheon City Mayor
The Mayor of Incheon honored Dr. June-Young Lee, the Assistant Professor lecturer in the UAC Communication department, and Eunbee Cho, a Communication major.
At a year-end party held at the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority in Songdo on the evening of the 13th, UAC communication department professor June-Young Lee and sophomore Eunbee Cho received awards from the mayor of Incheon in recognition of their contributions to improving the lives of international people.
Since September, Dr. Lee and Eunbee have been planning and producing video content for international residents in Songdo, Cheongna, and Yeongjong International Cities.
The contents range from information on international residents' lives, visits to foreigner-friendly businesses, and introductions to Incheon historical places, all with the sensibilities of the MZ generation.
In August, the University of Utah and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a memorandum of understanding for global content internships, and Dr. Lee and five students from the Department of Communication have been planning and producing related videos weekly.
“As an American state university, the University of Utah has a tradition of contributing to the local community,” said Dr. Lee, who received the award, “we will continue to do whatever we can to serve the people of Incheon.”
The Department of Communication applauds the work of Dr. Lee and Eunbee and looks forward to many more years of rich partnership with the Utah Asia Campus.
